Perfumery etiquette Modern perfumery was appeared in France. But it got its base in ancient centuries when aromatic oils and aromas were used for divine services and for ritual purposes. A first time perfumery was used only in cosmetic industry, but then a perfumery’s meaning was extended and it became the independent industry. The modern perfumery, as well as an antiquity perfumery, is based on essential oils. Natural oils are very expensive; therefore in perfumery often used imitation of essential oils. When you choose a perfume you shouldn’t orientate by packing, a trademark, a fashion or someone's recommendation. A perfume, which is good for one person, doesn’t suit to another. Choice of perfumery also should depend of season. It is better to use heavier, saturated smells in winter, and fresher and easy in summer. Perfumery should suit to situation and your mood. By rules of using a perfume, a smell of perfume should not fill all room when you come in. Perfume’s "radius of action" should be no longer then your hand from elbow to fingertips. You should spray a perfume for an hour before you leave home. Aroma keeps longer on oily skin. If you skin is dry, you should refresh aroma more often.
