  • Steps backward with eight-like thigh movement forward

*** When you make this element, remember that a thigh, which is turned to your audience, makes a horizontal circle bigger then another your thigh

When we turn around we touch to divine

Turns are an integral part of east dances and it seems to be an easiest one. But it isn’t as easy as it seems. The hardest moment of a turn is to memorize where you begin a turn. We have a little ruse for help you not to lose yourself in space when you turning around. Fix your sight on one appointed thing before you start a turn. It must be something big and massive which is difficult to lose sight. For example it may bee a picture or a big vase or reflection of your own eyes in the mirror. This ruse reduces your giddiness when you turn around.

However some wise men say that continuous turning is a way to touch a divine. Giddiness, which a dancer tries to avoid, is a purpose for someone who wants to fall into a trance. They say that turning right side you become nearer to heavens master and turning left side come us back to Earth.

Dervishes even have ‛A dance of a turn“. For this dance they put on black cloaks and then put them away to imitate disappearance of illusions. This dance looks like a movement of heavenly bodies, especially if there is a group of people dance it.
