How to combine colors
Color of your clothes is the first that your auditory sees. You don’t make any movement yet, and color of your costume says something about you. Certainly, each woman has her favorite color. Someone likes red color; someone likes green color. There are also certain psychological rules, which fix how people perceive different colors and their combinations. You can take them into account in your costume design.
A combination with golden or silver color suits for all people. Black color is combined with each color. Usually they chose only one color for a costume and combine it with golden and silver decorations. If you want a costume with several colors it’s better to choose different shades of one color. You also can combine two similar colors (yellow and orange, orange and red, dark blue and blue, etc.).
You can use supplementary colors for your costume (turquoise and orange, green and darkly pink). If you use a shawl, a walking stick, wings, candles and other objects in your dance, do not forget to choose their color to your costume’s color.
A shawl should be the same color what your costume is. However, if there are two shawls in a dance, it is better to choose different color shawls. Walking stick is decorated with ribbons, applications and gems. Decorations should be combined with color of your costume and to be bright enough, to mark a walking stick in your hands.
When you choose a color of your costume, do not forget about illumination during a dance. Your costume can change its color with different illumination. In well-shined room light colors become lighter, and the strong sunlight can make you costume white. Dark colors with weak illumination become darker and seem black.
